Logo usage guidelines

Large Logo

Printing colour

The logo is intentionally monochrome, it is not meant to be colourised.  Placement is preferably on a white background but this is by no means a requirement.  Where possible, the text is to be rendered as white, not transparent.   Transparent text is acceptable only on a plain background and only when it does not disturb the readability of the text.

Relationship to Liberal Democrat branding

The LIBERAL YOUTH logo is a separate brand to that of the Liberal Democrat party.  There is a strong tradition of using  yellow in Liberal Democrat materials for obvious reasons.  When creating promotional or informational material about the Liberal Democrat party it is proper to continue to use yellow and black.
However, when writing similar materials in the context of LIBERAL YOUTH colour should be used to indicate context where appropriate.  i.e., yellow is appropriate when emphasising our links with the Liberal Democrats, red to indicate urgency, etc.  If there is no self-evident colour that is obvious, a bright, neutral colour is preferred.  See this site for examples.
