LIBERAL YOUTH URGE CONSERVATIVE FUTURE AND YOUNG LABOUR TO ‘PUT POLITICS ASIDE’
Today, Liberal Youth have written to their equivalents in the Conservative and Labour party urging them to write to their MPs to support an amendment to the Immigration Bill which will mandate the UK to house 3,000 refugee children.
In the letter, Liberal Youth urge that there are occasions where putting politics aside and solve international issues. They say “Every so often in politics there are occasions where people put politics aside, unite and solve the issue they face as we did in the 1930s to children fleeing Nazi Germany. We whole-heartedly believe this one of those occasions”.
Adding “We’d like to offer our hand, our support and more importantly our plea to work with Liberal Youth, the Liberal Democrats and our MPs to take steps towards resolving the horrid reality facing child refugees in Europe.”
Labour Baron Alf Dubs has written the amendment to the Immigration Bill and it debated by MPs on Monday.
